There is this realy great FB group about home improvment/decoration and other “mum groups”. Often there are women asking for ideas on how to arrange this or that in a practical way. And of course, pictures are desired.

Sometimes it’s about how to arrange toy storage. With this I have less issues. There is almost always a way to take a picture of our play area. I don’t really care if there are toys scattered… I do have 3 kids and there is always someone playing (as they should be). Some days we clean up several times. Some days not at all. And yes… sometimes I just push stuff aside to make a narrow passage through the chaos. Obviusely I’m not gonna post that :p

Another issue a lot of us seem to have in laudry! Well… that’s something noone really wants to see… not even your own sometimes :p With 5 people and both parents working, often the laundry part is overwhelming and absolutely always overflowing! I’m not a fan of a single hamper… we only had it for a short time when we first moved in together. It’s impossible to see how much of which laundry there is and no fetisch for tossing dirty clothes in and out every day. Some people have a basement laudry room – colecting laudry for example in every bathroom and then separating it later. I actually tried this since the boys have their own bathroom… nope, not working. So we added and addes till we had enough baskets for separating. Everybody seperates their own clothes… also building a habbit of not letting socks lying arround.

So we started out with a basket for dark, white and coloured laudry. With kids and poop all over the place we needed more. So now we have 6-7 seperate piles: whites 90°, whites 40°, dark, kids underware + towels + bedding, colours (sometimes separated into lighter and darker), red/pink, dads’ socks + work clothes.

And ta-da… a glass of champagne for getting to the bottom of most compartmets (even if only for like two hours) here is a picture finaly semi-appropriate for posting…

To the left is a single hamper for 90° whites that will probably go away when our youngest is a bit older and there won’t be a full load every week. The upper basket in the cabinet is supposed to double as red and dark… but with so much pink lately the red slips into a seperate bag on the side.

When our little Princess has no need for the small tub on top of the laundry cabinet – we are so getting the taller version of the Ikea string drawer stand!

This is actually my original english version and there is a slovene one HERE
